Meet Denise

Take Shape Fitness started when I was teaching dance full time. After 25 years as owner/instructor of Denise’s Dance Studio, I felt it was time to make a change. I had added group fitness classes part time while teaching dance full time.

I began by creating Ballet4Fitness class for parents of students and the local community. I wanted to share my love of dance and movement with others through group fitness. I trained and became licensed in a variety of group fitness classes including:

  • Zumba

  • Zumba Gold

  • Zumba Gold Toning

  • Zumba Toning

  • Aqua Fitness

  • Zumba Step

  • Strong Nation (a HIIT workout)

  • Zumba Step

  • Turbo Kick

  • Piyo (pilates and yoga)

  • Circl Mobility

  • Silver Sneakers

I also offer the following original classes as part of my roster:

  • Stretch & Tone

  • Stretch & Flow

I stay on top of group fitness through continuing education.

I love teaching group fitness! I feel that it is never too late and you are never too old to begin or continue your fitness journey. Movement is so important in all stages of our lives to keep us strong and in good health. Staying active also improves our brain health, strengthens bones and muscle, and helps delay many health problems that come with age.

My areas of focus are: cardio, strength training, toning, functional movement to help you stay vital and, staying healthy in all stages life.

I love teaching in-person and virtual group classes. I feel that we are a team working together on the journey to staying fit and healthy. Take Shape Fitness is fitness for all abilities, bodies, shapes and sizes.

My mission is to build community and acceptance through fitness. Take Shape Fitness embraces diversity and body-positivity. All are always welcome.
